Why?
Now a day, the combine work of man and female in social development is very important in the world. In our country females are more involve in social and reproduction field than production work because our country (especially in village) the opportunity of it is so much less. But in our country these opportunities are increasing gradually. The participation in fish culture is superior among these opportunities. Fish culture is profitable within short time. So female can gain more profit that can help to get priority in a family and also share decision making responsibilities. As a result the production of fish and fishery product will be increased and our country will be more developed.
Advantages

As, the pond is near the house, so female can easily take care of this beside housework.

They are enable to take part in any types of work related to fish culture.

Generally the probability of male in fish culture as well as involvement in other income source is greater than female. If female take part in fish culture man can apply more effort in others work easily that provide sustainable income.

Female can easily upgrade their role in the family by gaining profit as well as fill up nutrient in the family.
The participation of female in training and fourth fisheries projects extension

The fourth fisheries project has considered the importance of female participation in fish culture.

The main objective of fourth fishery’s project to involve the villagers in fish culture by direct or indirect extension and technological work.

It has taken some specific planning in formation of fish village by involvement of female under fourth fisheries project.

To full fill the objective of the fourth fisheries project of fish village formation, 25 fishers are selected according to their curiosity about fish culture where at least 25% fishers are female.
How to increase the participation of female?

A meeting can perform to increase the awareness about involvement of female in fishery sector.

If we advertise that females are able take part in any types of fishery work, they will be curious about fish culture.

Before selecting the females, it is necessary to inform their guardian.

When a combine training of male and female create any problem then female would be trained separately.

When a village become more suitable for fish culture by female then the team of that village would be form by female only.

We have to ensure the equalization of male and female in case of leading of a group of fish farmer.

It necessary to encourage females to give their opinion jointly with male within a family about fish culture and also other activities.

Main works in fish culture

Pond preparation, weed control, dike preparation, application of lime, according to necessary.

Stocking of fry in a proper way.

Appropriate and regular application of fertilizers and supplementary feeds.

Regular monitoring the water quality and health of fish.

Harvesting of fish and marketing.

Consulting with Thana Fisheries Officer for more helps and information about fish culture.
Females can do all these works easily but it requires more people when ponds are very large.
Main constraints for female participation in fish culture are illiteracy, religion, social obligations. If we consider these very carefully we can increase their involvement in fisheries sector which can help us to make our country very rich.
